Tax Compliance Assistant
Position Overview
NCMB offers a diverse range of accounting, auditing, tax, and business advisory services and is seeking an ambitious and driven Tax Compliance Assistant to join its growing team. As part of our expansion, this full-time role offers the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team of professionals, contributing to our client services portfolio and fostering lasting client relationships.
Roles and responsibilities
- Assist in preparing corporate tax documents for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Support senior team members in the preparation of tax returns for both individual and corporate clients.
- Assist with the preparation of share transfer documentation.
- Provide support to senior team members in addressing client queries as required.
- Collaborate with the audit team in preparing tax computations in a timely manner.
- Aid the corporate team with the preparation of Malta Business Registry (MBR) documentation when needed.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to tax filings, ensuring timely submission of all relevant documents.
- Maintain up-to-date data within internal reports to monitor client information.
- Contribute to internal company procedures related to the tax and corporate team’s activities.
- Work with the team to suggest process improvements and ensure client satisfaction.
Job requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or in the process of obtaining similar relevant qualification (ACA, ACCA, or similar).
- Basic understanding of the Maltese tax system with a willingness to learn.
- Up to 2 years of experience in tax or accounting roles.
- Strong work ethic, ownership of tasks, and excellent communication skills in English and Maltese.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Solid written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information responsibly and ethically.
- Capable of working independently and within a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional organizational abilities.
