ESG And Green Bonds

It is quite known that socially responsible investment opportunities are quite valuable and as such interest on related instruments could be quite attractive, especially for the persons seeking debt finance. In Malta the first official reference to ESG and green bonds has been made during the 2020 budget.

These are types of bonds whereby the issuer raises proceeds aimed at supporting certain environmental, social, green or governance criteria.  This market is expected continue to grow and what is interesting about it is the ability to allow for the realisation of social and green projects while at the same time giving a return to investors for whom such spheres are at heart.

In Malta these are governed by the Malta Stock Exchange and in general, reduced listing fees will apply.

Through the JPA International Network and our teams, we can assist you with a lot of aspects of your ESG or green bond listing.
